Founding Story – How Preyer came to be

It all started with a chance that was too good to miss: a first project that led Hans-Peter Preyer to take the plunge and turn his long-held dream of working for himself into reality.

With success: today,25 years later, Preyer has grown to employ over70 employees. The approach of bridging the IT and financial worlds has remained, though, making us one of the key players in the industry.

Preyer’s unique are the individuals who make up our team, because for us expertise is more important than titles. That's why we offer a working environment with flat hierarchies where you can take responsibility right from the start. Our corporate culture is based on expertise, a willingness to take responsibility and reliability.

We believe in the strength that comes from working together as equals and promote an environment in which all staff have the same chance to contribute their ideas and work with our clients as partners. This means that their soft skills are as at least as important as their specialized knowledge.

Preyer is a specialized management consultancy at the interface between finance and technology.

We offer a mix of strategic consulting and reliable implementation. And we focus on fields in which we have built up extensive knowledge and expertise. We take a solutions-driven approach and keep the final goal in our sights.

Our conceptual work is characterized by a visionary approach. We always advise our clients with a focus on the future, the international market, and the sustainability of concepts and implementations.

We are aware of our responsibility and always maintain approachability not only within the team but also towards our clients. In our job interviews, HR, consultants, and management work closely together to ensure the best possible team fit for new employees.

We take responsibility and implement change

Everyone at Preyer has the opportunity to take responsibility and implement change. We walk the talk in the company when it comes to values such as integrity, expertise and a sense of responsibility.

Our staff can contribute to nine internal innovation teams. These develop ideas for their areas of specialization and present them to an internal board. If successful, the projects are then assigned the capacity and budget needed to implement them.

We have also made a long-term commitment to the social projects we support outside the company. For example, we have developed and held training courses on how to use notebooks in Tanzania, and support social welfare organizations such as Arche.

Further education and team events

Preyer is dedicated to the idea of continuous improvement. That’s why the entire company regularly meets up for “teaching Fridays.” These offer a chance to learn from each other, listen to presentations by experts and discuss internal issues. Of course these events also promote networking, since all staff from Germany and abroad get together in cities such as Brussels, Munich or Frankfurt, and have a meal together the evening before.  

Regular team events such as our annual trip to Mallorca, reinforce our team spirit and strengthen relationships within the team, as well as offering a forum for new ideas and innovations. Not to mention enabling us to do fun things together as a group.  

We also support our staff’s personal and professional development, e.g., by sponsoring MBA courses or individual employees’ participation in workshops, fairs and exhibitions, or further education and training courses.

25 years of experience and an international mindset

We have been building on our values and taking a client-centric approach for 25 years now. Managing director and company founder Hans-Peter Preyer is still actively involved in the business, both at a strategic and at an operational level. Julian Köster, our second managing director, has worked in tandem with him for many years and contributes a sales perspective by his comprehensive knowledge of both – the IT and finance sectors.

Our team is made up of people with a wide range of nationalities and educational backgrounds who come from a number of different fields. Additional locations in Toronto, Zürich and New York ensure an international network and a global perspective, resulting in effective cooperation with our international clients and partners.

Flexibility is extremely important tous. Our virtual company policy allowsemployees to work from anywhere in Germany, while our headquarters in Kronbergim Taunus are open to all staff at all times.

Corporate Social Responsibility

We are aware of the fact that, as a company, we are a role model. As a result, we both want and need to take responsibility.

This doesn’t just apply internally, as an employer – it also holds true for society and the environment. We know that what we do has an impact, and we want it to result in change for the better.

That’s why we’re doing what we’re good at: IT support.

We have been helping with ongoing IT projects in Tanzania for several years now. We have donated hardware, installed IT systems and trained staff in a hospital and a school, and by doing so have helped advance digital transformation.

One benefit is that patient records can now be handled online. A small team of our consultants have visited several times to provide support.

We are already planning our next project and look forward to continuing our help.

Additional donations for Ukraine and "Die Arche"

The war in Ukraine and the associated hike in inflation are hitting more and more people, both in Germany and in the war zone itself. We are delighted that we were able to donate money to help the victims of the war in Ukraine and to Arche.
